The SoilEssentials team were delighted to be part of the Scottish Ploughing Championships, held last weekend at Arbikie Farm, Lunan, near Montrose. Despite the wild and windy weather, the event went ahead with great spirit, showcasing the best of Scottish agriculture, skill, and tradition.
This year, SoilEssentials were proud to sponsor the GPS Ploughing Class, a category that highlights how technology and precision farming continue to evolve the time-honoured craft of ploughing. Competitors demonstrated impressive accuracy and control, using GPS guidance systems to achieve straight, consistent furrows – a clear example of how innovation and tradition can work hand in hand.
It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones throughout the weekend. Events like this remind us why we’re so passionate about supporting the agricultural community.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event – the 2026 Scottish Ploughing Championships will be held at Whitburgh Farms, Pathhead, near Dalkeith.
