What is Area Measuring?

Area Measuring is a professional field-mapping service using a handheld GPS to give you accurate measurements of your land, whether it's for cropping, grazing, planning or compliance.

What do we measure?

Fields - usually potato fields, planted and unplanted areas and can include rented land

Features - such as new boundaries or drainage systems

Ineligible Areas - such as ponds, trees and hedges

Ecological Focus Areas (EFA) - such as fallow land, catch crops and agro-forestry

Once we’ve taken the measurements we need, we compile this information into clear, digital maps with accurate area calculations. This data can also be formatted for specific grant applications, if required.

OUR AREA MEASURING SERVICE

Handheld GPS

Ideal for
SAF claims, new field boundaries and land-use changes (e.g. forestry to agriculture).
What’s Included
An experienced and professional service from our team who will visit your farm.
Using a Trimble handheld GPS device with RTK correction via EssentialsNet, we measure your land within 10cm accuracy.
This includes precisely measuring and mapping field size, usable areas, features and exclusion zones.
Where boundary lines are straight, a quad bike with the handheld device can be used saving significant time.
For 2m or 3m grass margins, a tape measure will also be used.
Detailed maps and area calculations, formatted for subsidy applications or planning will be sent as a PDF file by email or by post if preferred and uploaded to our online precision farming portal, KORE for easy long-term access.
